He heard several strains of music coming from the elegant house behind the hedge. Each sound seemed to wrench and teach something, something inside of him. His nerves became tensed; the hair on the nape of his neck and arms stood lofty and rigid. His sudden, voracious ardor spawned a thousand prickly sensations in his soul, his chest, his head. The notes of the piano swarmed inside of him, creating commotions and the perception of an unveiled virginal passion. He felt each note, each note, in a rapture of emotion, in every piece of his renewed flesh. He did not know anything about quavers or demisemiquavers or clefs or about silences or arpeggios or tempo or rhythm or harmony… But he longed to know…
It's incredible the effect that music can have on the human soul. It creates an incredible emotion unlike any other. Music is medicine to the soul and even though some may not know much about music when they listen to the notes and the rhythm they seem to understand the sentiment as if they knew.
